Part 3 - He Will Guide You To Success.

Are you ready for some incredible news?  Our Father wants to help you run your business & be successful!

Part 3 of our series is  about seeking God in all our decisions.  Let’s look at where Cathy went wrong in that area:

Cathy was pretty sure God wanted to bless her with income from the internet so she could quit her 9 to 5 job and have more freedom to work in street ministry.  So…she dove in headfirst and signed up to sell drop-shipped knick-knacks on line.  Unfortunately, she failed to seek God before signing up.  Had she sought Him in quiet prayer, and made His desires her FIRST priority, she would have seen that this was about to be a dot bomb instead of a dot com!

Sometimes, we get so excited about an “opportunity” we see that we just KNOW it must be what God wants for us.  Put “private prayer time” NUMBER ONE on your daily list of things to do.  I have missed God just like “Cathy” did.  At other times, when I have diligently sought Him, I have been absolutely amazed by the inspiration and ideas He has blessed me with.  It’s much more fun (and profitable) with Him, than without Him!

Let’s remember to ask God for Answers!:

Don’t try to do it alone.  Your number one business partner is our Father – and He shouldn’t be a silent partner!  We can do all kinds of things in our own strength, our own way…but remember:

“The shepherds are senseless and do not inquire of the LORD; so they do not prosper and all their flock is scattered.
Jeremiah 10:21

When you hear from God – don’t argue!  Don’t be so “in love with an idea” that you find it difficult to follow Him in a different direction.

“Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.”  Proverbs 16:20

Even if it doesn’t seem to make sense to you – if you know it’s from God – do it!

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”  Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything.  But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”  When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.  Luke 5:4-6

Running your business involves both risk and opportunity.  Be careful not to get “paralyzed” with fear of missing God or of failure.  If you’re waiting for the perfect opportunity, you will never get started!  Seize whatever opportunity, after prayer and study seems best.  With prayer, you can expect to hear from God and can follow His directions.

If clouds are full of water, they pour rain upon the earth.  Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there will it lie.  Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
Ecclesiastes 11:3-4

Wasn’t that an amazing insight?  God is our PARTNER!  If He is our partner, then he certainly should have much to say about HOW we run our business.  Let’s be sure we are being honest and upright in every one of our business activities and transactions.  If you feel a twinge about something you’re planning to do… DON’T DO IT!  It won’t be worth the damage it will do to you spiritually and to your reputation as a Christian.

So…what’s next?  How about those “Six figure income in six days with only six minutes of work!”  Not on your life!  If it sounds too good to be true…it is.  In Part Three we’ll learn what the Bible says about working, reaping and sowing.
