God's Math - What They Didn't Teach Us In High School!

Part 6 of our series is about the fascinating concept of tithing.  If you haven't tried it, it's time!  If you are already tithing, then you will enjoy this review of the scriptures on this subject.  Keith sure could have used a review!

Keith was doing EVERYTHING right!  He was seeking the Lord first thing every morning before starting his work, he was resting on Sunday, he was meditating on God’s word and seeking His guidance for all his decisions – and he was having some success.  But - - he just couldn’t seem to break through the way he knew he should.  Something was missing both financially and spiritually.  Something was wrong!

Let’s look at Tithing - God's Math is Better Than Man's Math:

•	OK, we’re all familiar with God’s rule regarding tithing:
	A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.  Leviticus 27:30
•	And He is serious about this.
	Will a man rob God?  Yet you rob me.  But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ In tithes and offerings.  Malachi 3:8
•	As always, when our Father commands us to do something, it is ultimately to benefit US, not Him!  When we tithe, we open the floodgates of heaven!
	Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  Test me in this says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Malachi 3:10
•	We’ve already discussed the some of the benefits of honoring Him.  This is yet another!
	Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.  Proverbs 3:9-10

I just have to slip this in – while we’re on the subject of percentages.  If you want to be successful, you will have to obey all of God’s commands – including His command in Romans 13:7:  Give everyone what you owe him:  If you owe taxes, pay taxes….Resist temptation here—in some cases it can be very easy to hide the money you make on the internet.  DON’T DO IT!  Remember, you are only hiding it from the IRS.  GOD sees it and knows what you’re up to!  Be honorable in all things – to glorify His name.  You’ll sleep better at night!

If you’re not tithing yet, please start!  I promise you will be blessed.  And better than that, GOD promises it!
