It is Truly More Blessed To Give Than To Receive!

Well, this is it!  Part 7 of our series.  Today we are going to look at my absolute favorite Biblical principle for prosperity - GIVING!  My husband and I enjoy watching this principle in action - if we run short of funds, we increase our giving!  I bet Sandy wishes she had grasped that principle a little earlier in her career.

You Cannot Out-Give God

Face it, Sandy was a tightwad!  She’ll realizes it now.  But she used to defend herself by saying she was “frugal”...that she worked hard for her money.  Her business was doing very well.  But she just wasn’t happy!  All that work, all that money – for what?  Something was just plain missing.

Giving...Do we have to?

•	Isn’t it nice to have it to give?  God didn’t give us our wealth to hoard.  He gave it to us so we could be a blessing to others, and thereby be blessed.  Sandy was missing out on the refreshing that comes from blessing others with a portion of the blessing we have received.
	A generous man will prosper, he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.  Proverbs 11:25
•	Hoarding is an ugly thing!  And we have been commanded not to do this.
	When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.  Leave them for the poor and the alien.  I am the LORD your God.  Leviticus 23:22
•	How much of my profits should I give?  Well, let’s see what the bible says:
	Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.  There will always be poor people in the land.  Therefore, I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.  Deuteronomy 15:10-11
•	Now here’s a math concept for you – You CANNOT out-give God!  The more you give others in His name – the more He will give to you!  Now we’re not talking “dollar-for-dollar” here.  We are talking about blessings.  Some of them are financial, and some of them are spiritual and emotional.  I can’t put a price on the feeling I have when I’m able to take my winter coat off and give it to a shivering woman on the street!  What an incredible blessing that is.
	Give, and it will be given to you.  A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.  For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38
•	If Jesus said it…I believe it!
	In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive’”. Acts 20:35

If you don’t already have a vision for whom God wants you to bless with your abundance – PRAY!  There are so many wonderful ministries and so many needs to be met.  You will discover joy you never knew possible when you begin blessing others as you have been blessed.
